the OP's entire circle is probably drug addicts and criminals. Stealing or other crime is pretty common. Breaking and entering is not legal under any circumstance, save for police who have a search warrant.
Going to the police would be useless. Prescription or not, if someone reports drug theft, to the cops you are just another addict. They are not going to help you get your silly pills back. Best case is they say, "Next time do not have them accessible to anyone except yourself."
The only thing you can do is cut your loss and next time, guard your addictive substance with your life.
I knew a guy who called the cops over a videogame and used the report to get his gear replaced from the game company.
His friends went into his home while he was out, saw his game was logged in on his PC and so stole his in-game items by trading them to another player. He filed a police report and pressed charges.
Police may think it's petty and stupid, but they are still obligated to do their job.
I want to get into my friends house to get my percocet back

Games or other property is one thing but when we are talking drugs, even prescription ones, it is kind of thin ice they are treading.
