I don't feel sorry for them, because I've never abused prescription drugs. Yeah, it's sad if someone is addicted to anything, but I draw the line with regard to my patience, love and sympathy at stealing, lying and cheating. If someone fucks me over for any reason they're out, no questions asked.
I wish you would have therapy for whatever happened to you. I'm not saying that maliciously but don't close your heart. It's lovely in many other regards.
Well, thank you sugar. I am in therapy, but that bit about me bailing completely on people who fuck me over is just part of my personality. I did have a few sessions with someone who specialized in domestic violence, but it didn't help much.
I think I would be the type to break off from people who fuck me over regardless even if I didn't have other issues. My folks, and my sister cut people off for doing them wrong too. I had a dear friend that I lost touch with who used to sell weed, and this chick we used to work with, and her scumbag boyfriend tried to shortchange my friend so I cut off the girl who tried to fuck over my friend.
I know many good people who were/are addicted and got that way by following doctors orders to take medications. Then the doctors cut them off and left them to battle a harrowing problem.
No one wakes up with the intent on becoming a junkie.
One can argue the best way to help them but they shouldn't be summarily dismissed as bad people.
They don't cease being people and yes, being cut off is often required. Theft is one good reason.
But your heart should still be open for when and if they seek help, to help them to the proper resources.
Today a friend of mine in AA, who is a heroin addict with a record for relpase, asked me for gas money to get to treatment this week. I declined but offered to give him a ride.
You can still be a human and help those who help themselves.
Someone who is about to go through the worst pain in their lives if they don't use, and whose mind isn't right, isn't the person stealing, the drug is.
Would you fault a starving man stealing a loaf of bread.
Always protect yourself, of course, but don't close your heart.
I do remember a friend a long time ago that I dumped, because I didn't approve of some of her behavior. I do wish her well, but I couldn't stand her anymore so...
I see what your saying, but my feelings for people just naturally die if they fuck me over, and stealing is fucking me over. I'm also the kind of person who wouldn't hesitate to call the cops on someone who stole my anxiety medication. I just don't have a place in my heart for anyone who would steal from me, and I'm fine with that.
I want to get into my friends house to get my percocet back

I really like your style.

An opioid addict needs help and assistance.

You can cut them off and still care Rosie.

One of my older dogs 16, had a turn today. She only has a few weeks I'm afraid as her weight is dropping.
I'm saying this because well old pets lives are too short...and people would be better but I totally get it.

This solves it. I know what happened now -
Your dog went to the OP's house to steal his percocet. Then your dog OD'ed on it, which is why she is not in good shape.
You might want to lock your doors and employ whatever other security measures because the OP might be coming to your house looking for those pills.

I get it. I wish I could say I'd call the cops but I am more a vigilante hehe.
Calling the cops on this guy/gal, if he is an addict, just may save his life and like I said, I would hope I'd be reasoned enough to do the same.

I'm not entirely opposed to vigilantism either, but it can be dangerous.
