Achully I do have rights. I have the right to be married who ever I choose with consent. Vote, To live comfortable as I wish. The right to peaceful protest & political debate. The right to roam freely as I so choose across the kingdom, towns cities, wilderness, and behold. I have the right to take full advantage of my freedom as a citizen granted to me by word of the king. only to take my legal responsibility to respect the peace of the Scottish Kingdom. I have the right to be treated with respect & dignity honoured. Within the Kingdom of Scotland, I naturally have freedom & rights. :)
You are still under the legislation of the united kingdom so you are not apart of the Scottish kingdom if you are already under the british crown. And since you are under the british crown you have to deal with all the BS of the crown. Freedom of speech isnt in your list of rights, the government can arbitrarily remove them from you at anytime. You cant insult the queen (in america its encouraged to insult your politicians) any rights you do have can be forfeited by the crown. You can barely get a weapon to protect yourself but you have to retreat first.
While you have a lot more freedom than the 3rd world saying that you have a completely free society isn't true because the goverment can and will remove them from you at its pleasure.
The legal system of the UK doesn't apply to Scotland. The British crown as no legal or political power. We challenge Westminster UK government all the time. We trust our own Scottish Government. We banned guns because people are idiots. It worked for us. The UK government Westminster has no political power over Scotland. Scotland's only tie to the UK is economic tax. I know, I live here. The laws in Scotland are the same laws written by our old Scottish kings & queens (not UK kings or queens) obviously you can't assault Queen Elizabeth the 3rd. It's still assault.
Sure we don't have freedom of speech, because that's an American idea. We do have protection against hate speech. Your American political ideology doesn't work in Scotland.
Unlike you we don't have rights granted my a government constitution.
Instead we have rights and freedoms naturally, with those rights protected. Which means yes you have freedom, you just don't have the right to be an asshole.
