That's not really how maternity wards work. Unless the baby needs to be incubated they are never away from their mother. So there would be no opportunity for the baby to be mixed up with another baby.
I think back in the day they used to take the babys away to a nursery. Maybe they used to get them mixed up then? That's kind of weird to think about. It must have happened at some point...
