I want to be a 50s typist as my job

I want that to be my whole job, just tap-tap-tapping away, retyping documents instead of using a photocopier or computer. Then after a busy day doing pointless work come home to an abusive husband.

I've seen the 50's movies and it seems like a stress-free existence. Just sit at the typewriter typing whatever assigned. Every couple of hours there are the coffee breaks. Not smoke breaks because you can smoke all you want right there at your desk. Not sure about the abuse at home, feed your husband a pitcher of martinis until he passes out and take the tranquillizer of your choice and watch one of the 2 or 3 channels on your TV until it goes off the air at Midnight. Wake up tomorrow and do it all again.

Oh yeah. Good music, women that took pride in their femininity, no speed cameras, cheap gas and lots of good booze.

I rock a modern version of the greaser style. Jeans, shirt with the top 3 buttons unbuttoned, greaser hair, old music, good cars and well aged whiskey. It's a cliche, but a good one

Not yet, muscle cars are very expensive in Europe.

But I do wanna buy and restore one in the future.

I prefer to modify original engines. It would be a shame if I tried to cram in an LS in my 635CSI BMW...

Turbos are available for that thing and it's easy enough you can do most of the work yourself and it won't cost a fortune.

The only car I would LS-swap is an RX7. I know, it's a heresy of the highest order, but rotaries are massive money pits. And braaaap tsutututu ain't enough to justify constant repairs.

Oh my God, typing like that was Hell! I actually took a typing class in the 1980s on an old IMB electric typewriter.

Ha ha I can beat that: I learnt on a manual typewriter with carbon paper for the copies and an eraser to correct errors.

I remember my dad had one of those old manual typewriters. 👍🏻

My mom had one that could delete letters off the paper.

I actually kind of like dull repetitive work like typing. But with typewriters there's the stress of making mistakes, you can't just use backspace to delete them.

What kind of education do you need to become an abused 50s typist?

I don't susupect that is what you actually want to have for a life. It sounds good now because your life probably feels overwhelming with stress and anxiety. If you have that low of ambition I would see a psychologist of something if your really serious about this mate.
