When I was recovering from meth addiction I fell in love with my therapist too. We had a special friendship, a trust that she established which I have never had with another person.
But where the lines got blurred is when I considered that this was her occupation and she was just doing her job very well in making me comfortable with her.
I wish I could say we are still friends but I no longer need a therapist (which is a good thing) and I am no longer in contact with her.
I think it's normal in your situation and I'm sorry for what you've been through. You are probably just very emotionally needy and starved for human love and affection. My sympathies, empathies and well wishes are with you.
I want my therapist to adopt me, is it normal?
