    Then stop wondering and just do it! You could also google for furry groups if you'd feel more comfortable with others like yourself: most fetish/kink groups are welcoming to newbies

      Are they? What experience do you have with this? I wanna know some shit I think I'm going to start going to some of these types of things. Not furries tho.

        No experience with furries, but I have been to a few kink/BDSM/leather functions over the years and people are usually friendly and welcoming to new people. Maybe I've been lucky, I only have experience of this in Melbourne Australia.

        Check out Fetlife for groups near you or maybe websites/chat initially.

          Hey that's good to hear! Anything to convince me that not everyone will be a complete nutcase. I am on fetlife and plan to attend events this summer probably, maybe winter break.

    It really depends what you're looking for out of it.

    If you're looking for serious relationships - take it from me, but absolutely not a good place for such a thing. Most of the furries in the fandom, prioritize running free and by running free, they want to have as much sexual fun as possible. Only so few actually are couples.

    If you're looking for friendships - yeah! Furries can make good friends. I say 'can' though they aren't necessarily essential.

    There is a huge split in the fandom, divided by hobbyists and kinksters. Hobbyists are the ones doing the art, whether it's for fun or for business purposes. It isn't just artists but they could range from furries who go to furbowl meets to hang out or just casually browse and get to know things and people.

    Then there's the kinksters and they're infamous for mostly the wrong reasons. They're who you've probably have heard the most about since they're the loudest of the fandom. Sex, sex, sex and more sex is on their mind, nearly all the time. There is almost little to no boundaries when it comes to the idea of sex, with them. It takes a lot to get used to, much less even interact with a furry who's got a laundry list of very obscure and disgusting fetishes.

    ...Find the hobbyists.
