I wanna know what love is and i want you to show me.

Love is a chemical reaction in our brain. It starts with phenylethylamine and dopamine, then moves on to serotonin and oxytocin. Yet, that doesn't explain how we "feel" about it.

What do you think love is???

Love means all kinds of different things to different people. The mathematician in me wants to be able to quantify it with one easy definition, and the scientist in me wants to write up a list of symptoms for reliably diagnosing "love" :P I don't think it can be done though. The closest we can get is listening to Foreigner at 3am, as I am now :P

  • Well.. Love is not for everyone the same. You can give it different meanings.. for me love means protecting ,taking care of loving that person being around him

  • Love is having commitment and loyalty towards someone, and always wanting what's best for them. It's a partnership that focuses on making each other happy and bringing out the best in each other, with the understanding that neither part is perfect and that every day they strive to better than they were before. Love can be friendly or it can be romantic...it can burn with passion or be more calm in nature. It can be sexual or platonic. I don't believe it has to be exclusive, but a lot of people do. It depends on the couple, really.

  • Other: You were right at describing it as chemical reactions in the brain. All emotions are only an illusion created by brain waves and chemicals. They are intangible therefore not actually real.
