I have said "no it is not normal", and I have done that because it isn't normal. In mathematics normal means average, and asexuality is a rare thing. That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it, just that it doesn't happen often.
My half brother's uncle, who is in his fourties, is asexual. He went to a therapist because he didn't enjoy sex with anyone at all, even though he has forced himself to do it, and never has and wondered if anything was wrong with him. He is not depressed, physically ill, or anything.
Turns out he lacks a sexual drive. He actually managed to meet a woman who feels the same way, and they have a really good relationship so far. But finding a partner who can live in a relationship like that might be hard, if you don't search very specific for someone asexual as well.
I've never enjoyed sex.
