I've never been able to "see where i'll be in 5 years"

In two weeks, I'm going to get on a plane, fly 800 miles away and start a new job. I've never been able to see myself in any situation but the present, but I have a very clear picture of what I'm about to do and how it will turn out for me.

I've never before been able to comprehend that I might have a future, but I can see pretty clearly downthis road. Is this normal, or am I wired wrong?

I hope my concept is clear. I've been trying to word it right for 10 minutes now... Sorry if its confusing or unclear.

Is It Normal?

  • I got this too, it's very normal.

  • You're normal, don't worry.

Realistically, no one can clearly see what they will be doing in the next 5 years unless they already achieve the job/career they aimed for, otherwise it's all a speculation to feel secure in where you're going in life.

    Enjoy living in the moment.

  • I'd say you're lucky, living in the moment is awesome, but planning for the future gives people a sense of security. I've never been able to see 'where I'll be in 5 years' but I also never really know how things will turn out for me. Sounds like you've found a healthy medium... Best of luck!
