Isn't the idea of drinking alcohol to enjoy the taste and relax?

I wouldn't want booze that was completely tasteless. Even bland vodka has it's own flavor. Why get rid of taste?

Taste is what makes every drink unique.

    Actually some people put a bunch of juniper and citrus and other botanicals in it 999 years ago and called it gin.

        Actually some people dissolved quinine in water and called it tonic and combined it with gin to make it palatable 998 years ago.
