Very normal, but you have to remember that you are still his student. Being friends with a student is very dangerous to his job. However the college students that come for a visit are on to other things and he doesn't have the same liability with them. Be a good student and stay professional and I'd bet the farm that he will converse and laugh with you when your in college.
