You are right. Back when talented mathematical women were not hired by aerospace firms, they could only teach. They would pound the hell out of all the smart or gifted boys to make them high achievers. This was the only professional satisfaction they would ever have in their careers.
Funny I wasn't going to go there with the whole women thing, but the teacher who actually was successful in teaching me how to read algebra was a female and the only female algebra teacher that I ever had.
I totally suck at maths?
