    As far as I'm aware it's not an official signal of lesbian attraction but in my experience it's a pretty good indicator of it. Septum piercings' recent popularity seems to stem from Tumblr culture which attracted an enormous number of queer women, which I suspect is where the connection arose from.

    I'm straight and I have my septum pierced.
    Personally I don't believe it indicates that some one is gay or bi.
    Just someone particular taste in accessorizing.
