Looking at this world and its history has me thinking is this hell?
From war famine diseases divisions etc this world is a horrible place to live in.
I think we are all currently damned and things will only ever get worse.

Today we found a lost dog, we hugged it, fed it treats and took it to an animal shelter.
I hope that pup gets adopted, or found by its owner if it's a good owner. What kind dog was it?

its sad how indifferent or bad people can be

Seeing how most of us are not being burned alive and we can induge in numerous pleasures, I don’t think we are in the Roman Catholic version of hell. Now you can make whatever pagan cult you want and say that this is hell.
Hell doesn't have to be all fire and brimstone.
Look around and see how corrupt and hopeless things are you may have it good but a lot of others have it worse.
Not to mention, the vast majority of us, even in third world countries, are not being eaten by worms while sentient.

If it isn't so bad why is it that nobody wants to live in third world nations?
From poverty to dictatorships to civil wars and first war nations taking advantage.
Third world nations are the definition of hell.
I never said it wasn't that bad. Those countries are likely where you could get the closest to a hell-like experience. It may be controversial, but there are places that I think that a nuke would honestly be a mercy for.
3rd world countries might fit some descriptions of hell, but they're still not as bad as the hell from my Bible.
There are times this is hell though, like around 2011-2013 When Adele was the ONLY music heard on every station, store radio, everywhere.
In fact if you read Luke 16:24, it explains that the rich music fan cried and said, "RIAA, have mercy on us, and send Lazarus, that he may have earplugs, and cram them in our ears; for we are tormented in this Adele music day and night."
There are lots of things to take joy in as well. The world is a balance of good and bad, for the most part. You either focus on the good or focus on the bad.
But when I was younger, before I got myself straightened out and onto a good path, I often thought this too. So I think it's normal. I imagine if I went through another really bad patch I could find myself thinking this way again.
What, you don't know any good people who are trying to make the world a better place for others? You're not looking around much, are you?
Its all in your mind. If your mind is telling you this is hell, then try to change the way you think. i dont know, change religion (or find one if you dont have any), study art, good philosophy. There are plenty of "mindsets" avalible
No, as bad as things are they can always get worse! Believe me, things can always get worse. This world is more a purgatory of sorts in my eyes, but that's only figuratively speaking of course.
When I'm feeling down I try to make a gratitude list, and count my blessings. I say this not to chide you, but because it helps me to challenge my own negative feelings. It just might help you too.

Nothing good ever happens on Monday, it's always bad news... Problems at work, problems at home, problems with parents health, you name it, it's always a fucking Monday.
Today is no exception, got a fancy selfie from the police, I was caught driving 60kmh in a 50kmh zone, so 15 Euro fine... Cause nothing keeps Europe safe like fining some random guy for going 10 over the limit. Fuck the muslim extremists, the corruption, the mafia, etc... This world contains more wickedness than you could possibly imagine. There are perversions, experimentation, and unbelievable harm done to most innocent and defenseless among us. We live in a world where killing an unborn child isn't just legal, it's seen as empowering.
It's ironic, but the more truth you seek the more like hell the world resembles. But it's only through a mass awakening to these truths can we hope to make heaven on earth.
It also contains wisdom, kindness, self-sacrifice, commitment to making the world a better place, love, fun, music, nature, art, creativity, sex ...... need I go on?
If you want to focus on the negative stuff go right ahead, but I don't see the point myself, even though there are lots of things in my life I could dwell on and allow to control me if I chose to do so.

My post to IIN's other resident old lady should address your argument as well. Basically to fight evil you can't be a victim of evil. To not be a victim means you have to develop a clear understanding of what that evil is.
Child predators do not prey on children who fight back, who know what evil monsters they are. These pedos go after children who can't even comprehend them. Those children don't fight back because they can't even conceptualize what's happening.
The more evil you choose to conceptualize the stronger you are and the greater good you are capable of.
Children who fight back against sexual predators and perpetrators of non-sexual physical abuse often end up being abused even more severely, or dead.
What do you think has often been going on in those families where a father or step father or live in boyfriend murders the whole family and then kills himself?
I don't understand what you mean by conceptualizing evil? As a survivor of child sexual abuse, domestic violence and rape, I'm far from unaware that evil exists in the world, but I've chosen not to focus on that, except to be involved in activism to prevent it happening to others. The fact that so many other people also are doing just that gives me hope and confirmation that there are more good people than evil in this world or humanity wouldn't have survived as long as it has.
I don't necessarily agree with you, but what you are saying here isn't going to give OP a new lease on life, and inspire him, or her.
My intention wasn't to inspire OP, but to help them articulate just how evil the world is. By doing so, OP's mind is less stressed and less helpless. This is necessary if you're going to go against evil and make the world closer to heaven than hell.
