It doesn't even always work. It's really rare for a healthy person to die of the flu. I think the whole thing is just a way for big pharma to make money and perhaps even has a hidden agenda.

You're right, it doesn't cover every strand of influenza virus. But influenza does kill.

Hey you just might ward off a flu you were about to get from a shot 9 years ago because of the strains of flu that exist. Flu shots I've seen cost about 25 bucks. The drug company that finds the cure all to influenza could ask for a 1000$ per shot. Those are the kind of stakes pharmaceutical companies want to get.
well a good friend of mine, bless his soul, was really healthy and was even told to possibly have a high immune system, and so he got a bit cocky and went antivaxx for flu season and, sure enough, died of the flu, so i wouldn't dance with the devil in this situation and instead just take a flu shot

Do you feel the way about the measles? And Polio? Tell me how specific vaccines have eradicated diseases and are fantastic, yet some others aren't cool?
You should do some research into things before you inject them into your families bodies and insult others for not doing the same. Flu shots are totally different from the MMR vaccine and the polio vaccine. Ill link you to the CDC page to read up on it. Getting a flu shot does not mean you won't get the flu. It only reduces your chances of getting them SOMETIMES. Some years flu shots only have a 2% chance of reducing your chance.

You guys should get that shot. My cousin, his wife, and son didn't get it and they all got the flu last year. His son had to go to the hospital. He's avoiding the big hospital bills at the moment and two of our uncles just refuse to talk to him still.
I use to work at a pharmacy and a lot of patients complain after they got the flu still. None of the pharmacists at my walgreens got them. I remember a co worker once got the flu shot and had to go home the same day because it made her so sick. Im not antivax. My kid got his vaccines but the flu shot is a joke.

See that's the thing, before vaccinations and modern medicine in general things like that was a death sentence. Now due to us ourvparents there parents so on getting vaccinated and junk our immunities have increased and made these things miserable instead of lethal. Do I get such shots? Fuck no, I get sick everytime anyways so I'll play the 50/50 game with it. Do I believepeople should get it? Of course!
I 100% agree about insisting children get exposed to minor pathogens curious-bunny. Playing outside in the dirt, touching things other humans have touched is healthy indeed. Life threatening diseases that were previously erradicated, and only are in existence again because of idiot first world parents lack of understanding of science; you bunny know, that is a different problem.

Elderly and very young kids can die of the flu. Also who cares if you don't die, do you want to have a flu? They're fuckin terrible
I thought only Americans ignored science and the importance of vaccines. I actually don't have children but I am seeking out non stupid, vaccinated preschools for my yet to be born future children.
I don't know about all the conspiracy theories but I have gotten the flu shot many times and felt like crap for a few days after so no more flu shots for me unless my health becomes compromised.
