Your fundamental error was buying celery in the first place.
Cardboard has much the same texture and taste, it stays fresh forever at room temperature and it has basically the same nutritional value as celery. Best of all, it's available free from just about any random dumpster.

Fresh celery is delicious and it's natural groove makes it an ideal dipping apparatus. It can also be chopped into cubes and added to various dips itself to make them taste fresher
