At least one of them already has gotten his comeuppance-- Jim Bakker from back in the mid-late 80s. Unfortunately he's out of the clink and selling buckets of pig slop as survival food for the coming "end times".
Excellent business model, since those goldurn pesky End Times just keep on running away, don't they?
In my youth, my family was involved with the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Seventh Day Adventists. Both were created in the 19th Century in response to End Times anxieties, and both still attract pathetic people with that mindset. The Witnesses have predicted the End of Days several times, while the SDAs at least had the sense to realize that such predictions left them looking pretty stupid after a couple of failures.
I think televangelists should be arrested and charged with fraud
