I think severely disabled children should be euthanised

I think children that are born with disabilities that will prevent them from leading an independent life and contributing to society should just be shot (or otherwise quickly/painlessly killed) as soon as they are born.

People with disabilities such as blindness, being in a wheelchair or high functioning autism can obviously lead meaningful lives but those with severe disabilities are a waste of taxpayer money and a public inconvenience.

People shouldn’t have to pay for the disability benefits and healthcare they receive when they contribute nothing to society and since we have stopped natural selection from doing its highly useful job, we should just remove these useless people from the world.

It disgusts me to see people with ‘special needs’ put in public and they often get in the way in places such as public transport and restaurants. They also deduct from the learning of normal children when they are in mainstream schools.

Retarded people could do menial factory jobs in a labour camp but other than that, they really have no purpose in life.

It was all about keeping the blood pure. It makes sense if you think about it but its very cruel. Where would we be right now if we selectively bred the smartest and strongest.

I perfer the current system. Let anyone have kids and the best and the brightest naturally float to the top of their respective circles and keeps the economy chugging along.

Genetic diversity allows for a greater diversity of skills and talents. Like how we beat nazi germanys "perfect race" in the Olympics.

I have high functioning autism. People get very surprised when I tell them because it's only really noticeable to myself through the things I feel are difficult, and i'm sick of hearing "at least you're not autisic like completely in your own world, banging your head against the wall and unable to communicate". That's messed up. Those people deserve a good life just as much as anyone else and both me and everyone who doesn't have any form of disability are very lucky in comparison but they are people too. They think and feel too they just can't really communicate it like us but they do.
As for people in wheelchairs, wtf? They should be euthanized just because they can't WALK?! That's sick. I don't even think animals should get euthanized if they lose a leg or two, it can often be fixed with prosthetics.
It doesn't matter if they can't live indepedent lives, there are literally people who get payed to help and support them on a daily basis so that is not an issue. To think even a step further a lot of people would be jobless without them.
Many disabled people (depending on the disability) can even be of great help at workplaces. Autistic people for example are often very detail-oriented, careful and precise and likes to always do things the same way.
People in wheelchairs can still work in an office for example. Stevie Wonder is blind! Should he have gotten euthanized? He's brought great talent to the world.
It's people without empathy like yourself that the world would be better off without. Kind, caring and understanding people can usually bring enough love and confidence to disabled people that they bloom in a way that makes life easier for both them and the people around them. It's cold and insensitive people that makes them more insecure and unable to do things due to already thinking they're worthless so there's no point in trying.

Well no one should get euthanised so that doesn't make it any better.

        • Most of them have a really bad quality of life anyway so it’s more humane to just kill them

            -
          • The reason I agree that they should probably be euthanized is for their own sake rather than society's. I can't see how they could possibly have a decent quality of life like that.

            • I feel the same as you.

I don’t care about society, but rather so they don’t live a life of endless let downs and suffering. And I feel the same for people who develop Alzheimer’s or those who were in serious car accident, just take them out of their misery.

I disagree. That's not always true. Sounds more a hatred for severely disabled people and you personally wanting them to disappear.
If anyone it's those peoples parents who should have a right to decide, they are the ones who know them the best too. Parents (usually) have a very strong bond with and understand their children better than any stranger who could just decide they should get euthanized for being disabled.
They are still people. Who are you to decide if someone should live or die.

  • Kindness can be rare, and patience is even rarer these days. I feel like those who are blessed with good patience would be wasting it if they didn’t try to help those who have been dealt such a difficult hand in life.

Adopting a child with a lifelong disability is absolutely written in my fate. It’s disappointing so many people are so ill equipped with empathy and the ability to nurture others.

The modern idea of “Intelligence” is far fucking overvalued. There’s so much beauty to life and the fact some of you want to sit around in your dark rooms with a stack of cash and a chip on your shoulder is embarrassing.

Take care of your elders, your sick, and your young, or get eaten by wolves.

    • Intelligence is definitely not overvalued, intelligent people are the ones that develop technology and build amazing architecture that allows our society to function.

Even as recently as the 20th century, natural selection was left to run its course and the weak/disabled were removed from the gene pool.

Why try to prevent something completely natural and useful that has helped our species survive for thousands of years by keeping a disabled child as a pet just to make you feel better about yourself?

      • Natural selection also picked off the socially awkward, the introverted, and the scrawny men. So Mr Apple and Mr Microsoft would get their wives taken by big dumb ape man who knew how to throw a harder punch.

Intelligent people get to be coddled by the ones who do the heavy lifting while they sit back and try to find out better ways to do things. The brutes and the brains definitely need each other.

If you want to go back to the Stone Age you can drop your women off at my cave by 3, if you’d like to live in modern society, understand that we are privileged enough now to be able to help our weaker brothers and sisters enjoy life to the fullest.

Being able to help the less fortunate live and enjoy life is an accomplishment in human history, not a weakness.

My plants are easier and don't really give meaning to my life - I'm pretty much using them for my own pleasure of having green all around - they don't scream or demand anything from me, except water. And if I don't feed them and they die it's not an actual issue. I could just stop caring for them if I were not in the mood. No one would call PPS on me.

[I am NOT condoning what OP says though]

    • No one wants a houseplant that shits/vomits everywhere, embarrasses them in public, drains their bank account and will ruin their entire life. The people taking care of them usually grow to resent and hate them.

      Comment Hidden ( show )
  • I’ll be honest - if I was ever in a situation where I know my child was going to have severe disabilities I would abort them without guilt or question.

Life is hard enough without severe disabilities and I really don’t think it’s fair to bring a child into this world knowing it will be lonely and suffer. And there’s nothing in return for the parents, especially the mothers since they’re often forced to care for the child.

    • I just dint see purpose in bringing a child into this world knowing the bad will greatly outweigh any good a person should experience to have a healthy existence, it just isn’t right.

How is it a contradiction of my own premise, I’ve always believed in the death penalty for murderers, rapists and child molesters. I have never believed in it for innocent people who are disabled for no fault of their own but that would appear to be what the OP is suggesting

        Comment Hidden ( show )
          -
        • Bazinga

Because the OP is not a murderer. He only has murderous intent, which is not a crime. You however, have the same murderous intent of killing him because you don't like his murderous intent. Boy am I ever glad that you don't come near me. You are as much of a creep as he is. You might even decide you want to kill me because you don't like the scars I have on my face thru no fault of my own. Go tell the police that you belong on their watch list.

          • XYXY

Why would I belong on their watch list you just informed me murderous intent is not a crime. Besides that I don’t have murderous intent I support the death penalty for certain serious violent crimes, the OP on the other hand just wants to randomly murder people because they are unfortunate enough to have a disability. He or she is far more likely to want to kill you for having scars

Then you will have to change the statement you made in your previous comment "wankers like you could be shot so the rest of us don’t have to put up with your sadistic ideas". You could replace this by saying, "wankers like you should be punished by the Thought Police so we don't have to put up with your sadistic ideas." If you do this, you will no longer have murderous intent.

By the way, I hate the Thought Police. But everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

I can see the benefit of euthanising a baby if you know they will lead a life of misery. But most disabled people live happy enough lives. But it should only be done because it would be kinder for that individual, not because society would gain financially, that's just evil.

He wasn't a "brilliant man," but he did some cool things. He was an amazing general who almost (almost) single-handedly won a war against multiple other world powers, despite the fact that his country was massively in debt. That does not make him a brilliant man, however.

I have mixed feelings about it. But honestly I think you're right. Those children wont even have a good life themself (maybe decent at best, but not fulfilling) and they cant get it better. They never get to experience personal freedom, being able to pursue their own ambitions or even having basic privacy as they have to be watched over 24/7. I would rather just die than live like that
