I think i have a depressive, wtf is my problem?

Sometimes I'm convinced I'm a Depressive,as in I have the mental disorder that makes you depressed (could be Bipolar, Manic Depression, etc) but I'm not sure. It's like I know I am, but I'm not diagnosed. WTF? Am I normal/ what should I do?

Is It Normal?

  • I'm bipolar (aka manic depression). If you can't sleep sometimes and you're not tired that might be a clue to bipolar. I'm never depressed for long, but when I am, I just want to hate the world and die. When I'm manic I'm hyper, lack a social filter, have obsessive or completely inappropriate thoughts. Most people get depressed at one time or another (the manic or mania stage is the dangerous one), but it any behavior interfers with your life (can't get out of bed, lack of hygiene, not taking care of responsibilities, etc.) then go see a doctor ASAP. Good luck.

  • K bipolars symptoms can vary from hyper to depressed or just feel nothing at all. Lets srat by depression, If your always tired, aren't interested in anything, you can't think of nothing that could make you happy, tend to or completly avoid your close ones, can't sleep. It's depression. Go see a doctor and get meds for depression, if you enter in a sudden high and go hyperactive, welcome to the club, your bipolar. Now the hardest thing to do when your suffering from depression is to get help, since you don't want to do anything and everything seems so hard. Well its sad but your gona have to crawl your ass to the doctor and seek help. Everything will be fine after that. Ps if your bipolar, go back to the doctor and get a MOOD STABILIZER like lythium. And heres a tip, before trying antidepressors, try some weed, just a little at morning and evening. Small doses. If it works keep it to weed for your antidepressor, ino it sounds retarded but the pills they'll give you can take a heck of a toll on you. GL

    • Thanks so much for your educated advise, I'm see to be more depressed than bi-polar.
However, is it possible to be depressed and then normal? I go underage drinking with my friends when I'm happy. So, would that count as hyper? It's so hard to tell what's what emotionaly!

      • Well you clearly have no idea how to diagnose yourself. As well as that you are guessing multiple diagnoses. I think you are actually suffering from low self esteem. Since you really have no reason to believe anything that you are saying.

If you want an official diagnoses go to a therapist. If you want my guess I think your a hypochondriac.

These people will always think something is wrong with them even if their is not. They have a constant parinoa that something is wrong, is going to go wrong or is wrong with them. You believe their is something wrong with you and are making random guesses.

  • you would be better off seeing a psychologist and NOT a psychiatrist. psychiatrists are for people who have very bad mental illnesses like schizophrenia. a psychologist would be more appropriate for depression. i have depression and i got help from a psychologist, my brother has schizophrenia and he sees a psychiatrist.
i have a feeling though that you dont want your parents to find out which is why you dont want to go to a doctor. in all seriousness, you will need your parents support. tell your parents and go to a real doctor to get assessed. your health is not something to muck about with.

  • most school counselors are useless and are just there for college no matter what people say. and im not just saying this; i break down sometimes and it has happened in school and i've talked to them and they told me things to do not how to deal with it emotionally. they did suggest that i see a counselor though and nudged my parents to do that which might be good for you. I understand if it's a money issue though. at least see a psychiatrist once and asses the situation.
