I think humans are made to eat meat

They say that meat is unhealthy and unethical. We should all be vegan, but let's take Norway as example since I live here. It's cold and almost nothing grows here. You can't find or grow anything here. Even during the summer it's still cold. It's like that in Sweden and large parts of Russia. Vegans would die if we didn't have a modern society. What would they do during the winter ? What if b12 supplements didn't exist in our society and access was lost ? Meat eaters can survive everywhere. They can hunt crocodile, fish, bear, dear, rabbit, bird.. like ..you find animals everywhere , but not plants and nuts.

And carrots , tomatoes , bananas and everything else is not natural. Its been modified sooo much. You wouldn't even want to eat a natural banana if you knew what they looked like. Where in the wild do you see vegetables growing ? Do you see any tomatoes in the wild that are growing without human involvement ? But you do see lots of animals. HUMANS ARE MADE TO eat meat and plants.

Even if you are lucky to find some berries, what are you going to do ? They barley have any calories so you are still going to feel hungry. You did have to spend most of the day hunting after some plants while meat eaters gets enough calories from 1 kill.

This is a terrible poll, the answers overlap...

Looked up the natural fruits/vegetables thing since I didn't know about it at all. It's actually really interesting. Some were chemically modified, others are the product of selective breeding (selective breeding does really extreme stuff over time to both plants and animals).

But anyway, not a vegan but I also know what "omnivore" means. It means we can eat anything we want, we weren't made to eat anything in specific. Otherwise we would be carnivores. So, especially today, we CAN go vegan, but it's such a hassle and tastes so much worse that I don't think most people can reasonably be bothered. A lot of these people are probably vegetarian, a word we seem to have forgotten about, and just don't know it. That's why it's always pushed as a moral issue. It's a not a common sense thing, or a financially or physically beneficial thing, really. But you should feel bad.

  • My sister is vegan and I try to explain to her that humans are naturally omnivores, but she doesn't even try to listen to what I'm saying and says that veganism is the way forwards. I don't think that vegans are wrong for not eating meat, I just think that they should accept that humans are designed to eat meat regardless of what they choose to do.

In some areas the first humans didn't eat much meat at all but we still evolved into who we are today. People can eat what they like. I wouldn't want to go vegan but if we all had to we wouldn't die out.
