I used to have a couple of friends that I'd go eat dinner with, watch movies, go skiing, etc. Then I took a closer look at my bookkeeping and realized all the money I was spending wasn't worth it. They would call and I'd have some excuse, then finally I just ghosted them.
I'm surprised your friends would even want to do things that cost. Maybe its because I'm in college, but we just sit in someone's dorm, eat snacks, watch netflix, and laugh. I can count the number of times we've done something that costs on one hand.
Honestly I think its just you realising that friendship wasnt worth the money. You dont even need money to have awesome friendships.Im pretty broke so, Im highly aware friendships can get expensive but
there are many instances all you need to do is hang out at eachothers houses or something to have fun.
You dont have to spend money, but sadly I think a lot of people do anyway and regret it later.
I think a real good friend could be down to have fun that is inexpensive or even free.
