  • There are a lot of ugly sides to Americanism but there are some beautiful ones as well. If you don't like what you see, change it. I love the culture of my town. It is getting to be event season where people gather on the waterfront every weekend to eat local food, drink local beer/wine, listen to local music, and just generally enjoy each others company. Artists sell their wares and give of themselves. Handmade/homemade everything. People exchanging their skills for that of another. It's about building community, not shutting yourself in and fearing your neighbors. I love this time of year. I just hope this energy spreads.

    • And I think it's those things you speak of, and things such as those in my town-festivals of all sorts-is what will be most remembered nd recorded rather than how many people got arrested for a DUI that weekend, is what will be most remembered-even though the negatives are recognized ad noted, it's really only the most notable on either side-BEST and worst...worst being lesser becuase of agenda.... There's been losers and assholes throughout history, it's nothing new, we just notate the most notable characters and events (OBVIOUSLY).
