Psh, that's just pure awesome =)
I started doing the same thing when my friends made fun of me for having a Canadian accent, even though I'm from Tennessee. We went around making fun of each others accents and it kind of escalated from there. We can all speak fluently in many different dialects now. We tell each other stories of our mothers walking in on us talking in different accents, and then compare accents to see who's is coolest.
I can't say if it's normal or not...but it's entertaining. Plus you can get a cool job working at themed places, like a pirate restaurant or a medieval golf course. Or you can become a con artist. Whatever floats your boat.
