I take notes about everything...is that strange

Is it normal that I take a ton of daily observational notes about a variety of things that catch my eye, or spark curiosity to investigate it later (if I do)?

I have accumulated a large collection of ordinary notebooks with every page filled from cover to cover with notes.

Maybe, a long long time from now, my notes will be placed in a library archive, or used as a time capsule for a historian, or a future scientist? Maybe I'm over-estimating the value of my notes? LOL, I don't know.

I write notes about social observations, investing/economics, world events, social evolution, epidemiology, info about my hiking ventures, my ponderings about the purpose and meaning of life, spirituality, biotechnology, and my curious tracking of local water ways. I test the water for pollutants and keep a record of my results. It probably seems really boring. I like to play around with games and outdoor stuff, but I have to write all this crap down. I think after a lifetime of notes, maybe it will all connect the dots like a longitudinal study of life, lol.

I'm ridiculous!!!! Who knows!!!! For all I know we're going to figure out everything we really need to know in life over the next 20 years thanks to Google collecting all this data from what people search for.

I ought to digitize this stuff.

Anyone do this, besides me? Do you keep a diary, perhaps?
