Never really was much of a soda person. I more so like fruit juices. But once I found out that they were equally as bad as soda because of the sugar content and stripped nutrients, I started drinking sparkling water 1/2 and 1/2 with plain water. Nowadays, I usually only drink Fiji water or tap water. And yes, Fiji water is EXTREMELY pricey and ridiculous, but it is good shit.
Good for you getting healthy! This is a choice I made several years back and I haven't looked back. It should work wonders for your health given you drank a descent amount beforehand. I started drinking a shit ton of milk instead and now I like the flavor of milk so much I'm addicted haha.
Da fuck mate? Chicken isn't bad and the evidence for red meat in moderation isn't good either. Pop is bad because of the extra calories that don't fill you up nearly as much as meat whuch make you succeptable to a calorie surplus. And in tern, weight gain and all the health impediments that result. If chicken was unhealthy, I would be dead by now lol.
This study did not prove chicken was bad, it only proved it had the same effect on cholesterol as red meat. Those are two very different things and I'll explain. Red meat has been demonized for its 'association' with heart disease however not a single study has directly linked it, there is only correlation studies. You also have to keep in mind that cholesterol is just one factor, an increase is cholesterol doesn't make a food 'bad' it is just one strike against it. And there is no perfect foods. Why chicken is good is because its high in protein and has a very low calroic density which helps achieve a healthy body composition. So for example, if you were to stop eating meat and switch to junk food, you would be relived of the small heart risk from cholesterol in meat, but exchanging that for far more SIGNIFICANT adverse effects that those less healthy foods have to offer. Your avoiding getting your finger pricked to get your arm cut off instead. Nutrition is not a black and white thing. I could make the case for and against every food in existence depending on context and specific factors about the individual.
Not sure how much you really care, but here is a video where a PHD in nutrition describes the problems with the research and puts things into perspective.
