I spend most of my time on online gaming

I'm just a high school student a little shy and a little lonely. I have friends at school but I don't hang out with them or anyone after school I just go straight home and do online gaming read online manga or comics And watch anime. My life is dull. I think I need to go out more. I want to hang out with my friends after school but don't know how to tell them i want to. Is this all normal?

Feel better that at least you have hobbies along with gaming because I do not - I come home and stay on the computer until late into the morning when I finally decide it's time to try doing my homework.

Don't worry about, gaming and anime are perfectly normal and respectable hobbies. You shouldn't feel bad about being shy either, but you should try a little socializing. You don't need to push yourself and you certainly don't need to go out partying if you don't want to. Everyone is different, and you should spend time doing the things you want to do, alone or with friends.

yeah its normal but if you want to go out more you could join a club like sports, music, a book club or whatever. you said your interented in anime. there might even be a club you could join for that.

I know exactly how you feel bc I used to be like that. it's bad for you, it's an addicion and you just running away from your problems. get out there and interact with people

I was like you once upon a time so I understand exactly what it feels like. The first step is that you realise it's not exactly the healthiest thing and that's good.

At high school, people normally form cliques already so this can be pretty hard to break into. But it doesn't have to be like this. If you put yourself in new environments like joining a new club or something, then you can meet new people who might be open to making new friends, then you can perhaps ask them out for a movie or lunch or something along those lines. Give it a shot and see what happens next. All the best!

i know many people like you, so would would say it is normal, but it would probly be a better idea for you to get out a little more.

a good way to get your friends to hang out is to go up to them when your hanging out at school and say "hey who wants to go see a movie this weekend?!" or something like that.... i sappose you go to anime conventions and things like Comic-Con (im going to that next year lol yay XD) so invite one of your friends to go with you :]

This can be normal after being in home alot of the time being sheltered. All you have to say too them is " what are you doing after school" then if they are doing nothing say "fancy going out for food or shopping" if they are doing something just say "well when your done do you fancy meeting up to do something". That should help you =)

It's normal in the sense that a lot of people do it these days. It is however not good. Playing games and reading comics may be fun but they are better as enjoyable distractions when you don't have something better to do. And you should gave something better to do than wallowing in experience points and incest porn.

The information and experiences you come into contact with shape you. If you continue on this path you will spend much less total time socializing with real people than your non-closeted peers. While others become more and more socially refined you will only gradually mature, likely turning to your current activities as a security blanket as you find yourself increasingly uncomfortable with anyone except for the other socially stunted nerds. Luckily, there's s lot of them these days.

It's cool to be a nerd. Just realize that people are fun and you should spend time with them because relationships with other people are ultimately the only things that matter.
