sleep or the amount of sleep a person has isnt a set thing while one person may need 8 hrs a night another may get by on 5 hrs it depends on a lot of things personly i work shift pattens which completely blow any routine out the window so i only get about 4 hrs solid sleep a night or day depending in fact i cant remember the last time i had 8 hrs sleep. I believe your body will tell you when it needs sleep and i get to a point when i just spark out.
