If it works for you, then it's normal. I'm 69 and find my sleeping patterns change all the time, varying from functioning well on 5 or 6 hours to sometimes needing 10 or 11, but I think that's due to the variable and unpredictable nature of emphysema.
I find the hours of exercise a bit hard to believe: WTF are you doing, running daily marathons?
Almost. 12 tons of weights six days a week. I ride a beach cruiser from Santa Monica to Venice where I teach speed bag hitting three to four hours a day. Beach volleyball on weekends and at least 18 holes of golf daily. I'm probably in the 99+ percentile of healthy individuals at my age. Also, sushi, five times a week.
Agreed, I sleep for approximately 6 hours per night. But when I have work to do, I fill my bloodstream with stimulants such as amphetamines, and get around a month's work done in about 72 hours straight. I've done this since I was 13, and accomplished more because of it. Sleep often feels like a chore to me.
