Always liked Chicago, but then they were cool when I was in my teens.
Chicago is the only band I've seen in concert twice.
But then maybe that explains why they're ONLY band I've ever seen in concert. (Technically, I did go to an Aerosmith concert, but I was so stoned and drunk that I don't remember a thing about it.)
Ugh. This song reminds me of how although I was in the marching band I wasn't really accepted by the band nerds. That's not an especially sad revelation, but rather just a matter of fact observation. I'm actually rather pleased that In was a bit of an outsider. All the band nerds really liked Chicago, probably because their music is kinda heavy on the brass, I never listened to that crap though.
When I was in high school I listened to Duran Duran, Wham, The Police, Sting, Depeche Mode, The Cure, New Order, Public Image Limited, Siouxsie and the Banshees, etcetera. I remember this one friend of mind had me DJ her sweet sixteen party, because she smashed all her records when she became a Born Again Christian. People are so stupid.
Damn. Shunned by band nerds. That would have inflicted permanent psychological trauma on a weaker person.
High school is a total snake-pit of raging hormones, insecurity, anxiety, and general emotional immaturity. The only thing surprising about mass shootings in schools is that there's not at least one a day.
