The majority of Americans do adhere to my values. And that doesn’t explain why the people suggesting that now didn’t move to a country that adheres to their values from 2009 to 2016.
Well, despite being far from the perfect representative of those values in a lot of ways, she did have the most votes by a comfortable margin. Donald had 46.1% of the votes, which means that 53.9% - a majority - don’t agree with his values, if this is how we’re determining that. And we all saw what happened in the 2018 election.
Yes by far Hillary won the popular vote. But he took that electoral collage (or college) and ran.
And the 2018 elections did prove that many americans want democrats in the house. However, NY’s recent passing of the legalization of third term abortions for broad health exceptions have proven to be distasteful to many voters, blue and red alike. 80% disagree with the bill, and actually, there are many voters who consider cortez’s green bill a little too crazy. Of course, the future remains unseen, though predictions show that the democrats might need to calm down or else they’re going to lose supporters and the republicans could use a little polishing up.
I’m just honored to say that (If i don’t die) i’ll be able to vote in 2020!
Not only did democrats win the house, but democratic senate candidates had a whopping 60% of the votes in all the senate elections combined and democratic governor candidates had a slight majority of the votes.
The problem for democrats is that republicans lie. A lot. And the media(even the supposedly liberal biased ones) let them get away with it. So people who don’t realize just how much republicans lie take their word for things and end up believing, for example, that AOC wants to take away 70% of the $50k they make this year...which, obviously isn’t how marginal tax rates work. But when policies are actually explained to people, even the majority of republicans support her policies. I saw a poll last month that said 64% of probable republican voters support the green new deal when presented with the actual policies involved. It’s the same with other issues like gun control and abortion. When you present the policies without a democrat’s name next to it, they’re popular with everybody.
We’ll see what happens but history has shown that democrats usually win more when they embrace the left instead of trying to appeal to centrists. When push comes to shove, centrists either stay home or vote third party or vote for the republican they were always going to vote for anyway. The democratic path to victory is voter turnout among their base, which outnumbers the republican base.
Voting for the first time is exciting! Sadly, my first presidential election was a choice between Bush and Kerry. Hopefully you can make a choice that you’re happy with, whatever that is.
"The problem for democrats is that republicans lie."
😂😂😂 I sent you raw math. Based on your own comments of 50% of the wealth is held by 1% of the population, that means if you took all the wealth, 100% confiscation of all the wealth of the 1%, you could distribute a grand total of 18k to everyone.
They wouldn't have a job anymore but they'd have 18k once.
Now AOC is promising free health care for all, for eternity. How???
Explain that, and I will admit I am wrong. Here is your chance.
I’m going to answer your question for the sake of other people reading this and I honestly don’t care if you admit you’re wrong on not, I have no interest in any further discussion with somebody who argues in such bad faith.
The question immediately before that and after that are also relevant to this discussion, debunking your claim that government would control your health care and further explaining how it would be paid for respectively.
Did you really just take a single sentence out of a long post that was directed at someone else, removing all context from that post, and act as if it was a direct reply to something completely unrelated that you said in a different thread?
In general everybody does what they can to win and we’re all biased no matter which way you want to look at it. I’d like to think politics was as cut and dry as you put it, but humans have a way of making streams into a mud puddle. Haha.
Thanks for the encouragement and well wishes! I’m excited but also nervous, hopefully it won’t be a choice between dumb and dumber like in previous years. I wanna see some people with standards running.
I really want Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to run for president 2020

so over 70% (making an obvious majority) agree with your values?
Then why didn’t Hillary win?

Have a good day.
