        How about I just cite you, wanting to return to pre 80s tax utopias, which were mostly over but never fell below 63%.

          Nik it is high for businesses too. UPS paid 35% of their annual income to the government last year. If they dont have the money now to pay their workers high wages what makes you think taking more money from them will do? The grass isnt always greener on the other side. The government might take care of you (welfare) for a little bit but sooner or later a guy like Donald Trump will be back in the white house and he will take it away. Let the private sector make money. Keep the government out of it. Government becomes corrupt.

          I know conservatives suck at factual things like science and math, but 63% and 90% are two different numbers. Oh and the highest marginal tax rate isn't "taxing businesses" either.

          Pro tip: next time you see somebody say "citation needed" it's probably because the thing they're responding to has no basis in reality. There's no work for me to do here, I know what AOC has said and I knew the comment I was responding to was a complete fabrication.

            Are you being facetious candyland? It is hard to know. I do know 80% of my lyft drivers are Venezualan. I live in the States. I am going to guess on this one, but I bet 0% of lyft drivers in Venezuela are from the states.

            According to a Google search, cnbc states, there is 280 trillion dollars of wealth in the world. The world.

            There are 7.53 billion people in the world as of 2017.

            280 trillion ÷ 7.53 billion = 36363.6363636.

            Let's just give everyone 36k and start over.

            But that's it. This is your one chance. Can you make it on that for the rest of your life??

              Finally something we can agree on. I 100% support your assertion that the only two possible choices are the richest 1% of the population having 50% of the wealth and the poorest 50% of the population having 1% of the wealth...or everybody having the exact same amount of money. There’s literally nothing in between.

                I am being facicious to prove a point to this person that there isn't all these riches for the taking from other people.

                If we actually divided it up as I stated above, most people would be broke again in less than a year.

                Keep in mind, to actually implement that would mean no one would have a job either.
