but have no idea where to buy them or how to buy them (i dont want one now but for future reference) i would prefer to see someone selling them in person instead those "buy a pet dotcom" websites such as a pet store or shelter but there arent any near where i live, does that mean i'd have to travel to another city to buy one? i dont mind doing that aslong as there is a pet store there and a british shorthair heh

Don't get me wrong, i absolutely love my dog, but after puppy school, 3 trainers and a 5 mi walk plus playtime every day, she's still a destructive engery sucking cunt face. Dogs require so so much work & research. You're in the dog getting stage & already getting lazy.
Get a stuffed dog.
Be very careful about where you buy from. Rescue is best but if you go to a breeder make sure you do your research and that it's all above board and the animals are well looked after. So many dodge bastards out there abusing animals for a quick buck - don't line their pockets!
Look up breeders in your local area or how far you're willing to drive for one, make sure when looking for a breeder they breed for health first and health test their cats. If they show their cats it's a bonus, but you don't have to look for only breeders who show though you do have a higher chance of getting a healthier and breed standard cat. Make sure the breeder doesn't have a problem with you visiting where the parents of the litter are located and are fine with you visiting, if they make excuses on why you can't see the parents or litter those are big red flags and you should definitely move on to find another breeder.
Just some tips for looking out for a good breeder
Look up breeds in your country or state. You most likely won’t find one at a shelter, finding purebred animals there is uncommon, but you might find a cat there that you really like. Adopting from a shelter is always a good idea. If you are buying from a breeder make sure they are a reputable breeder and examine to see if their other cats are in good health.
