I quit masturbation

Me again, day 26 without masturbation. Have had quite a few temptations the past few days, hoping it gets easier as time goes on and the withdrawal ends soon 😵

    • I have support, a mentor and a higher power. Couldnt do it with will power alone.

  • Because there are lots of ways a person can enjoy things, and some kinds of enjoyment dont fulfil you; they just fill a void.

  • I have gone several months (after adulthood) without doing it before, and you pretty much just lose the urge to do it and have sex in general (I'm a woman, and that could matter). I though there could be some benefits to not doing it, but there aren't any that I have discovered from doing it versus not. And masturbating can help you calm down if you struggle to sleep. I have read that men drain their testosterone if they do it too often however (not sure for women), so there are pros and cons. If you feel you really need it, I dont think NOT doing it for several days is ideal, but also not several times a day.

    • Yeah, im a woman. I quit because i was addicted to it. A lot has come up for me since i stopped that i would normally just push away or run away from.

      • When I quit doing it, that was at a point I only had weak urges to begin with (and have had much stronger before). I dont see the point of stopping if you feel you need it (but of course dont do it among people, or in times you should do something else). But what benefits did you get from quitting? Since you talk about running away from things, do you mean it makes you braver?

        • Its like the vail between my conscious mind and subconscious mind has been opened. A lot of trauma my brain locked away has come up. And i have to sit with uncomfortable feelings now instead of escaping. Ive also been quite restless and ive been able to use that energy toward exercise. Ive also stopped seeing people as objects and more as whole human beings. My sex drive has returned as i was masturbating daily even when i wasnt horny. I also avoided intimacy with other people because i knew i could just masturbate instead of putting effort into a partnership. I feel better about myself and not like my worth is based on my sexuality. 😊 lots of benefits.

  • A lot of young fat ugly boys and girls expect to be paid even if they're ugly and not really worth much.

  • I'm asexual. I used to masturbate
when I was younger but I rarely do it anymore. I'm in my 30s now and really couldn't care about it

    • I was addicted to it and using it as a way to avoid uncomfortable feelings.
