I have Trichotillomania as well. It is embarrassing, and although I've been trying to kick it for 11 years, it's not as bad as you think. I was really embarrassed about it at first, but I've come to realize that not that many people think it's really weird. My friends don't care, my family knows and it doesn't bother them, and my boyfriend doesn't care either. I've noticed if you try wearing gloves when you aren't out in public, it makes the gripping difficult and you don't lose as much hair.
Jillian says there is no cure.. and that's somehwat right. There isnt any actual cure. It's just an OCD/illness that we learn to defeat. Try your hardest and if anything, there's tons of people out there that suffer the same thing. You'll find that more often than not, it really doesn't freak that many people out.
