Yeah I used to do the same thing back when I lived in Los Angeles, and that was because I didnt want to be approached by street bums and cons....plus i did it while waiting for the bus so that ppl wouldnt think to kidnap me since i had company waiting for me
I also used to do that while waiting in line at the spaguetti factory they have such long lines!
