  • The idea of stocking up for emergencies, short term disasters, and even a potential short term breakdown of the local government is normal.

    The extent of your preparations is not; but, that does not mean that it's not wise to do so. It's a question of how much disposable income you have and can you rotate your stocks and not loose too much $ in expired or bad items.

    I have a more modest setup than yours. Should I win on of the major Publishers Clearing House I would likely invest more into it.

    Most people should have sufficient stocks to go at least several days without utilities and be able to defend their home or apartment from normal bullies and thieves. A large gang or professionals requires extra supplies, skills, and a pre-constructed defensible location.
