Say nothing. Like you said, she is not ill. She doesn't need your sympathy, or support to go through her period. She's used to it.
If she explicitly says "I'm on my period"
You can say "Ok, fine", or if she has a sense of humor make a sarcastic compliment. Something like "Well done!" XD
If she is very bitchy on her period, either ignore her, or fight fire with fire XD
I did have an ex that was really pissy when she was on her period and she'd actually act like a total bitch. Slamming doors, yelling, throwing stuff. I don't take too kindly to such behavior in my home...
When that time of the month came, I would clap and cheer, raise her hand in the air like she's a champion and scream like it's the last 15 minutes of the FIFA world cup.
She'd get extra angry, but that's what you get for acting antisocially just because something your body is doing a thing it was designed to do.
I never know what to say to a girl on her period
