We had an orange cat we named Bickie. In Britain, bickie is slang for biscuit (USA = cookie), ginger biscuits are very popular, and orange cats are sometimes called ginger.
We also had a cat named Lance. He was half-starved when he found us and pigged out for the first few weeks. That played havoc with his digestive system, and he was constantly farting. Lance was short for flatulence.
The first cat I had in Britain appeared in a similar state and was just as gassy. We named him Toots.
