I actually got a job there. The store shut down the day before I was to start.

Yeah I miss the guy behind the counter that had watched every movie on earth and would give you the loser look if you picked something he didn't think was good.

There's still video stores in rural areas. Places where internet is not affordable/accessible by a good enough portion of the population. There's a few near me. One is a tanning salon/video rental.

Blockbuster was a company that couldn't keep up with the times and treated their employees like dirt. I do miss the place though. When I was a little kid, my mother used to rent video tapes from them. I also remember back in the year 2000, they had these Pokemon Snap kiosks that I could print stickers from. It was one of the stores I went to kill time in after school. That location is long gone. There's an Advance Auto Parts store there now.

I remember once reading that there are a few locations left, but they're only franchise locations. Why not look one up and go visit it?
