I mainly use facebook to communicate

I mainly use facebook to try and talk to friends girls and family. Is this what everyone else does. It seems like alot people take hours to respond and will only have short conversations with me anymore. Is this because its more accepted to text or am i supposed to call or do i facetime a person? I like facebook because i can see the persons face and know who i am talking to and everything is organized to my liking. What about others?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

yes. i have a real old friend i spent years with at work and we were close during her stint in Medical school. we would triple date often. . 15 years later she even got on staff at a hospital i worked at but she lived in another town. so i hunted her down yesterday. sad thing is she died seven years ago at age 50. So i have lost a dear friend. i dont even know how she died. i loved Anne. i would have done anything for her. someone set up a facebook page for her. even though she is gone ill sent her a friend request.

It's totally normal to chat on Facebook but I can't help but identify the elephant in the room...

If they're friends and family, unless they live literally everywhere, what's wrong with getting your head out of your laptop and actually talking face to face?

I use Facebook for several reasons (to keep records of what happened during the diploma course I'm on; networking; keeping on top op political and cultural affairs; dumb quizzes; memes; to keep in touch with and check up on friends and colleagues; very occasionally to keep in touch with older friends).

I like Facebook but it's not perfect and I'm trying to think of an alternative platform that I could share information from the diploma course on thanks to those Cambridge data scandals
