  • To be honest, I'm interested in how you feel about it too because it's obviously different to me. I'm not sure being attracted to someone means there's something "wrong" with me, though. More that it's just different to your personal experience (which obvious isn't the arbiter of right and wrong).

But, anyway, what do I feel? It varies but I can give you an approximation that would be something approaching "common". It starts when you find yourself thinking of the person for no reason, like your mind is reminding you that they exist. You think about them a bit, think of something funny they did, or something nice, smile, and then carry on.

Usually, the frequency of these thoughts increases. Sometimes you find yourself thinking, "Wow, she really does have nice eyes / hair / lips / cheekbones" and you pick specific memories of them that are like positive reinforcement. Whether it's something you approve of, some trait you find positive, something that increased your curiosity, or something sexy. Soon you are thinking of them all the time. You can often feel this way without it being requited.

If it is requited, then all hell breaks loose. Your head swims with positive chemicals and you become temporarily insane. Everything takes on greater significance. Like seeing her name written somewhere or even just the first letter of her name. You become slave to overwhelming sentiment but in a good way because it feeds this thing between you. You feel invincible, in an altered state, as if the world makes sense where it previously hadn't. Previously it was cold and dark and lonely. Now it's like a carnival of lights and noise and all your favourite things. When you think of the happiest day of your childhood, it's like that. To outsiders, you'll look stupid, sappy, may even be annoying. But to be on the inside of that thing? There's nothing quite like it.
