you might have something known as Chelonaphobia (in easier words, fear of turtles) I think you should talk to a therapist about this. See what's really going on. (that's if you want to talk to one that is)

Huh! A very active imagination! This is likely an example of having a fear of something because you don't have a lot of familiarity with it. Snapping turtles could certainly bite you, but only if you mess with them or accidentally step too near them under water or something. I've never heard of that actually happening. Surely people are in turtle-infested water more often than shark-infested water. I had a science teacher with a tile moat that he kept snappers in. It was also my homeroom, so I got to be around them a lot. I guess he figured it was one of the few animals that he could keep that high school kids would respect!
