Realistically, I believe society has attempted to convince the human herd that "fun" requires attending parties.
Corporate USA encourages this attitude since there is profit and lots of it to be made via the masses drinking alcohol and engorging themselves with food.
And the latest music MUST be played at LOUD volumes.
Sell more music and a LOT of research has found that people talk less and eat and drink more when LOUD music interferes with conversation.
I eventually shunned parties; preferring small gatherings of like-minded folks who actually enjoyed each others company and liked to converse with each other and did not desire the mind-numbing impediment of alcohol, etc. interfering with human interaction.
Do not let propaganda/brainwashing/indoctrination by others be your personal guide as to what is enjoyable!!!!!!!
