    Yeah, it normal. There's this service that I have to attend, and I usually let my mind wander. The computer part of my brain alerts me when something is important.

      I don't have bad hearing, I just don't want to listen.

    I have the same problem where sometimes I don't properly hear what others say. It's certain tones that throw me off and I have to get them to repeat while I lean closer and concentrate. It's really bad in a crowded room with other conversations going on.

    My hearing is not the best so sometimes I do it and am able to react accordingly, other times it just gets weird.
