I'm overly sensitive now..

Ever since I became more in tune with my mind and body, I find myself very sensitive to external stimuli. For example, if somebody is tense or sad (not clearly showing) I can feel it within myself. I often find that I am able to read people and see the subtext beneath their spoken word.

As a result, when I feel strongly about something (normally in a negative way) I find myself on the brink of tears. My eyes will begin to water and I'll have to stop myself. Yet before, I was able to suppress the feeling and not let it surface.

How can I work on reducing the frequency of these occurrences.

don't stop yourself from crying as holding in the tears and generally not feeling emotion is actually quite unhealthy

You may becoming more evolved as a human, that is probably what more of us needs to do. Unfortunately you are dialed in on the negative. Adjust your focus to positive wavelengths until the rest of humanity can have the bandwidth you do. (A lot of puns, but seriously you're on the right track)

Stop imagining that if you focus on others you'll always know what's going on with them. How do you know you're correct? I'm assuming you don't ask them?

Finding yourself on the brink of tears when you feel strongly about something is entirely normal. If you were suppressing the feelings before, that wasn't healthy.
