It is in the realms of being normal, if you don't get carried away and take it too far. When I was young I had a lot of problems, particularly with the education system. I retreated profoundly deeply into an imaginary world, of sci fi series Blake's 7. I went to the very edge, and it was dangerous. Being insane and thinking you were Blake's 7 was utterly bloody fantastic, better than being james Bond or Elvis or a Beatle. But I would not advise doing what I did.
