Yeah it is odd like that. My state's largest city happens to be the capital though. The stuck a lot of the capitals near the middle of the states. When you have oceans, lakes and other geographic features around, those places are bound to become more populated.
I'm not American yet I know all the US State capitals. Is this Normal
