You talk about strangers as if the 'strangers' were a separate class. Those that you mention are rude and disrespectful are 'strangers' themselves.
I think that your position, respectable as is in the bottom line, is badly stated and is seen as a kind of impractical Ghandism.
The point, as I see it, is not to not be rude to 'strangers' in general because they are 'strangers', but that one should ever try to deal with and fix things in a peaceful and courteous way, and, anyway, not initiate hostilities oneself. Not only with strangers but with no one.
