  • I feel your pain. Recovering porn addict here.

If it's starting to take over your life, it's a real problem. But step one is figuring that out, so that's good. What's next is learning to keep the impulses in check and to fill in these desires with something else. Is there some thought or need that usually drives you to thinking about sex, or just fantasizing about it?

Listen, can we send private messages on this site? I can be a lot more helpful but I'm kinda shy, I hope you understand why. If you're on reddit, ImAnOvenmittPuppet. Please send me a PM, I'll share everything I can, and I have questions that will help you figure it out yourself, I just don't want to broadcast this to the entire internet, ya know?

        • I'll share some resources tho I would still like to chat.

I'm going to assume porn is involved, but even if you're one of the rare few who haven't gotten hooked, the exact same brain chemistry is taking effect. To your instincts, porn and real sex are the exact same thing. Porn really messes up your sexual expectations (sexpectations?) and it can take years to get back to... factory settings.

          Sites:
          YourBrainOnPorn.com
          Reddit.com/r/NoFap
          Reddit.com/r/PornFree

App: rTribe.com (Talk about it with an anonymous social network, panic button that gets you someone to talk to and get your mind off it)

Podcast: PornFreeRadio.com. Don't need a podcast player to listen tho.

          Books:
Anything by Patrick Carnes. Facing the Shadow is what I started with.
Fortify, by the Fight the New Drug group
Some addiction recovery guide by LDS Family Services that I forget the name of

        • Don't have Facebook.

Try reddit, accounts don't even need email address, it's absolutely anonymous. Just a username and a password. Send something to u/ImAnOvenmittPuppet. It's the only idea I have besides email
